In Croatia,
Halloween wasn't celebrated until recently. In recent years, due to increased
popularity of American TV shows and movies it has been celebrated. The people
usually give the children candy or coins, it’s a tradition. If the people don’t
answer at the door, the children throw eggs. The people dress up in costumes in
many Croatian cities. In the Kvarner region, they wear Zvončari (tradition
dress), wearing masks has become highly popular among children and teenagers in
Croatia. In the schools, the students usually wear costumes and masks on both
Halloween and Poklade.
